Song Of The Day!

Well, technically it's the song of yesterday... But I'm only an hour late so it's sort of okay.
Like so many of the artists I love, I first heard Hollie Cook on Jools Holland in November of last year and ever since she's had a place on my iPod. The BBC called her 2011 album, which was produced by Prince Fatty, one of the most enjoyable reggae albums of the year and Milk & Honey is a prime tune to kick back to. For something born in London, it sounds like it belongs somewhere much more exotic...

Every day in the morning paper you
Look at the news of the world economic pages.
It's time to laugh all alone in your room,
If only you could shine through the darkness, Yeah.
Hey
And the day and the night, you dine out
So far, the reason you feel lonely.
Hey
You should try,
You should try,
The milk and the rice
With just a bit of honey.

Every day in the evening pay per view
You see the boys and the girls,
They wanna be famous.
They talk and laugh,
You don't care for the rules.
You know that nothing
Ever really changes, yeah.

Hey
And the day and the night you dine out
So far, the reason you feel lonely.
Hey
You should try,
You should try,
The milk and the rice
With just a bit of honey.

Song Of The Day!

A day late again... I'm so shit, sorry. BUT yesterday's tune is an especially amazing one. I'm not sure if I've mentioned it in previous posts (I'd be surprised if I hadn't) but Beyoncé is, without a shadow of a doubt, my favourite artist and has been for years. She's incredibly talented, creative, beautiful and humble, but she's also strong-minded and works hard to hone her talents. Despite her huge success, she's always thinking bigger and better. Her success is, in my opinion, entirely deserved.
Speechless is on her album, Dangerously In Love, which is probably one of my favourites. It's very sensual and quite erotic... The chorus grows into a musical climax when she sings 'You got me... speechless.' Yeah, that's right. Climax.

You’ve got me,
You’ve got me,
You’ve got me,
You’ve got me speechless.

Where you been baby?
Waited for you all day,
Waited for you to use the key
That opens my place.
My heart starts trembling
As I hear your footsteps pace.
Lock opens, doorknob turns,
There appeared your face.

Going outta my head I think I’m loosing all my mind,
Drive me crazy burning candles making love all night.
Feels so strange it feels so crazy to be in your world,
In your arms, lost for words,
You’ve got me!

You’ve got me,
You’ve got me,
You’ve got me,
You’ve got me speechless.

Laying so closely,
I feel your skin rubbing and touching me.
Only sweat between us,
Feeling you kissing and pleasing me.
I rub your back,
I kiss your neck,
I know that you love when we touch like that.
I can feel you need me,
Feels so good to me,
Feels so good to me.

Going outta my head I think I’m loosing all my mind,
Drive me crazy burning candles making love all night.
Feels so strange it feels so crazy to be in your world,
In your arms lost for words
You’ve got me!

You’ve got me,
You’ve got me,
You’ve got me,
You’ve got me speechless.

Yes, yes, yes,
Yes, yes, yes,
Speechless, all I can say,
Yes, yes, yes,
All I can say is
Yes, yes, yes, yes.

Kiss me,
Hold me,
You’ve got me
Speechless.
