Every now and then I remember how good Emiliana Torrini is and obsess for a while. This time, it was because I couldn't sleep and Bleeder, which I've posted below, is the most beautiful and soothing lullaby ever. I mean obviously it didn't work because I'm writing this at 3 in the morning but if anything did, it would be this.

'Oh, lay with meOh, closer to my body'

I, Pet Goat II

By Heliofant - The most amazing short film I've ever seen. Definitely demands more than one watch, it is absolutely crammed full of symbolic images and unreal graphics.

Rob Hefferan

Here is another example of an incredibly talented artist. He uses warmth and light so masterfully to capture atmosphere and the life in his subjects that you can't help feeling as if you are actually with them in the painting. These are just a few of my favourites.

Disney Paintings by Thomas Kinkade

I have nothing more to add that can't be explained by the paintings themselves - They are incredible! Evokes all the beauty, romance and fairy tale that Disney portrays in its films and more. I am totally in love with this man, especially his painting of Beauty and the Beast.

Not sure... But beautiful anyway

If You Forget Me - Pablo Neruda

Translated from Spanish, but still very evocative and poignant.

I want you to know
one thing.

You know how this is:
if I look
at the crystal moon, at the red branch
of the slow autumn at my window,
if I touch
near the fire
the impalpable ash
or the wrinkled body of the log,
everything carries me to you,
as if everything that exists,
aromas, light, metals,
were little boats
that sail
toward those isles of yours that wait for me.

Well, now,
if little by little you stop loving me
I shall stop loving you little by little.

If suddenly
you forget me
do not look for me,
for I shall already have forgotten you.

If you think it long and mad,
the wind of banners
that passes through my life,
and you decide
to leave me at the shore
of the heart where I have roots,
remember
that on that day,
at that hour,
I shall lift my arms
and my roots will set off
to seek another land.

But
if each day,
each hour,
you feel that you are destined for me
with implacable sweetness,
if each day a flower
climbs up to your lips to seek me,
ah my love, ah my own,
in me all that fire is repeated,
in me nothing is extinguished or forgotten,
my love feeds on your love, beloved,
and as long as you live it will be in your arms
without leaving mine.

Aleah Chapin - Auntie Collection

I'm not an artist, nor am I knowledgable at all about painting and portraits or anything, but when I saw Aleah Chapin's work I was absolutely blown away. Her collection of nude portraits of those closest to her are not only incredibly beautiful, intricate and intimate but also seem to somehow portray perfectly the love that the artist felt for her models. Her most famous, 'Auntie' (below) won the £25,000 BP Portrait Award and a commission worth £4,000. She is definitely being appreciated!
